The Theosophical Society" is an international
organization, founded in New York on 17th November 1857 by a Russian lady Helena
Petrovna Blavatsky and an American Colonel Henry Steele Olcott. The International
headquarters of the Theosophical Society is situated at Chennai in India. Dr. Annie
Besant, an Irish lady to India in 1893 and became 2nd International president of the
Theosophical Society in 1907 after H.P. Blavatsky, Dr. Besant was a Sanskrit
Scholar, an educationist and fought against the British to free India from their
hands.
The word "Theosophy" is derived from two Greek words: 'Theo' means Divine and
'Sophia' means knowledge. The motto of the Theosophical Society is 'Satyanasti
Parodharma' means "There is no religion higher than truth "This Society propagates"
Universal Brothehood" Our college is affiliated to Besant Education Fellowship which
is the educational wing of the Theosophical Society.
Today Theosophical societies have been functioning in more than 48 Countries of the World and around 441 Theosophical Lodges in India. The Hospet Theosophical Society was founded on 10th of June 1904 and same day charter was issued
